(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 22 Sep 2007) Black colour with brief brown head. Roasted nose with distinct notes of heavily roasted coffee. Roasted taste with coffee, chocolate and hints of sweetness. Fairly thin. A bit one-dimensional, but if you like your coffee roasted, it’s a nice beer.

Bottle at home ... Thanks to Canadian Dan and his pall for this... Sharp malt fruits with a citrus tang to the nose ... hightly hop fruit for sucg a dark beer ... tad over fizzy ... Lots of juicy hop resins with a little drying graprefruit bitterness... Could do with some more malt character for my palate nonetheless a remarkably drinkable ale.

Courtesy of dsnowden. Pours clear dark brown with nice tan head. Big coffee aroma coming from the glass that seems a cut above Folgers crystals with some sweetness lingering behind. The flavor hits all at once with roasted to burnt malts, malty astringency, coffee grounds and hints of molasses.

From 34.1 cL bottle (no. 6612). Pours slight hazy orange with a little head. Aroma is malty with a wineous alcohol note, which takes some dried fruit with it. Flavour is cane sugar, malty, roasted, and clearly alcohol warming into a dry finish.

2005. Bouteille.
