Description
De Halve Maan Brewing Company is a family brewery in the heart of Bruges, Belgium. The brewery was restarted and refined by Veronique Maes in 2005. With unique beer recipe on the work, the brewery was renamed as ‘Brugse Zot’. Brugse Zot beer became the only beer that is personally brewed in the town center of Bruges. The Brugse Zot and Straffe Hendrik beers are two of the brewery’s finest types of beers. Straffe Hendrik beer is filled with bitter ale while the Brugse Zot is rich in fruity flavor along with different types of malts and hoppy aromas.

Rerate: I have to recall my original rate i guess. I still think it is a very nice beer though. Spicy hoppy, floral aroma. More hoppy taste, very triple-like spicy. Original rate: Very nice blond beer, probably one of the better blonds i've had! The high carbonation makes that it looks good all the time while drinking it.

Reddish-chestnut, hazy, w/ thick pockmarked head; aroma of plums and pear brandy, with traces of yeast, alcohol and Special B; alcholic and light, sweet, apple notes jump to the fore of the palate, leading into a malty middle. The finish, however, is harsh - stinging carbonation, a touch too much acidity (or not enough, if that's what they were going for) and no complexity to the malty sweetness. Good, but could do with less CO2, as the malts would be allowed to strut their stuff a little more and the finish would be so much smoother.

A yeasty Belgian ale, similar to De Koninck, but a little spicier, more complex and with more lively carbonation.
