Pours a not too attractive, quite murky dark amber. One finger of quite dense white head, good retention and nice lacing. Good intensity if not much depth in the aroma: caramel malts base with a slight toasted hint, rather strong fruitiness (red fruits and orange) and quite vivid spiciness (pepper). Taste notes shows good intensity as well: caramel and slightly toasted malts base, with a bit of residual sugary sweetness (brown sugar), fruitness as per aroma, with rather vivid spiciness (pepper) and some earthiness in the finish. Medium to high sweetness, medium bitterness, a slight sweet edge in the mouth and a balanced finish. Overall nicely balanced, though not super clean/polished. Medium bodied with average carbonation; borderlining a soft mouthfeel but still quite smooth and easy to drink. Very classicly belgian-like and quite nice at that.

Tap at Malto, Riccione, Italy. Pours plum purple, with no foam. Aroma is funky and cherry, phenolic. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Some astringency. Taste is medium-high sour, some subtle sweetness. Final is fairly clean, but leaves a desire to chew given by the astringency.

On tap at eretici beer festival. I thought it was interesting that this was called am imperial but not a triple IPA. But it's very on point - this is an old school west coast triple IPA, bitter, herbal, pine, resin. Grapefruit and lemon, bergamot. Lovely.
