Il Microbirrificio Opperbacco nasce nel 2009
grazie alla volontà e alla caparbietà del Mastro Birraio Luigi Recchiuti.

Il birrificio è a Notaresco. Incastonato come una gemma tra i colli Teramani, abbracciato dal Gran Sasso da un lato e dal Mare Adriatico dall’altro con, uliveti, vigne e frutteti a fare da cornice.
L’intero processo produttivo si svolge all’interno di una vecchia stalla riadattata e attrezzata per laproduzione di Birra.

Bottle @ FOneFan. Dark brown/red with small tan head. Aroma is malt, yeast, dried fruits and toffee. Flavour is malt, yeast, dried fruits, sweet, sugar, caramel, chocolate, toffee and a little bitter.

Ulfborg Scooper Smagning 2012. Ruby chestnut with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit, cherry, marzipan and brown sugar. Sweet caramel and fruit flavour with yeasty notes and a faint hint of roasted malt in the finish

Bottle @ Ulfborg Mid March Tasting, 2012. Pours dark ruby amber with a small creamy head and lacings. Dark fruit, caramel, yeast and spices. Full bodied. Sweet and waming. A bit of chocolate.

Draught at Open Baladin Roma. Deep orange-amber with lace. Rather strange aroma of oranges, milk, slightly ripe cabbage, minerals. Minerally flavor with light citrus, crisp fresh cabbage, nice hops, light peach. Still vegetal, dry as hell. Quite challenging, and possibly a bit off form, but interesting and got better, though not great.

06/03/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (500ml bottle). Bevuta al 4:20 con KyotoLefty e Alex420. Ambrata con decisi riflessi fulvi e color rame, schiuma praticamente assente. Spettacolare aroma di malto con note di vaniglia, frutti rossi, ciliegia, Cherry e alcune sentori acidi, vinosi. In bocca è tutto meno che aggressiva, ma nel complesso è ben bilanciata nelle sue componenti dolci e acide, con lievi punte acetiche pur nulla invadenti. Corpo medio, grande struttura e complessità, carbonazione soft. Magnifico Barley Wine.

Bottle shared by Mortlach. Thanks, Luca! Brown amber color, no head. Lovely rounded barley wine nose, with some acid ad nice eafy hops. Sweet and sour flavor with big malt, orange, chocolate and caramel, lemons, some vinegar. Very nice.

17/10/2011 Bir&Fud Bottega (375ml bottle). Ambrata, spenta, lievemente torbida, con foglie di luppolo in sospensione, bella schiuma giallognola, molto persistente. Aroma straordinario, di una intensità esagerata, luppolo, agrumato, fiori, sentori erbacei, zuccherosi, di frutta (pesca, lime). In bocca è incredibilmente bilanciata, l’attacco è dolce, poi si fa strada il luppolo, ma senza mai esagerare. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Una delle birre più sorprendenti che abbia mai bevuto.

Bottle in Rome. Light haze on this amber beer. Good off white head. Light palate, a little fine carbonation in an overall softish feel. Nice light malt with a little cream supports sweetish fruits. A little peach and mild creamy orange. Finishes soft and smooth.

Bottle in Rome. Hazy gold beer, thick pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, a little dry. Creamy malt. Sumptuos thick creamy malt! Hops are bitter pine with mild citrus. Mild tropical fruits. Semi dry soft finish. Joins up fairly well. Easy drinking.

Bottle in Rome from Domus Birrae. Clear amber beer, massive cream coloured head. Light dry palate. Very light carbonation. Somewhat skewed hops - initially tasting quite fresh they quickly take on a gluey tone! Okay pale malt base. Dry finish. Somewhat overcarbonated. Okay but messy.
