500ml bottle from the Ale Stone, Aylestone, Leicester. Very dark brown and perhaps opaque with a ring of khaki head. The nose gives cherry chocolate and burnt malt. It's nicely balanced in the taste with a big malt bitterness encroaching on the sweet chocolate notes toward the finish. Tye holy is really disappo: thun, watery, flat. Overall its a good Irish stout although unlikely to be one you seek out.

Batch 1. Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour start with sweet vanilla notes. Later more sweetness of dried sultanas and raisins from the sherry. Enough roasted bitter malts to keep it in balance. Even though the finish is again sweet with dried fruits.
