Caramel in colour, but a tad light for an ''amber'' beer. Hoppy smell, which is a false indication of the flavour. Very light in taste, not much to it!

Golden Pilsener Label:
Clear golden colour with a decently thick white head with large bubbles that rise from the bottom which entails artificial carbonation. Aroma of stale hops, malt and a slight sweetness. Light-bodied; Metallic taste with a super light malt flavour and an even milder hop taste. Aftertaste is similar to water, except a bit more metallic and offensive. Overall, this is just another horrible beer from the brewery which brings you quite a few baddies! Not worth trying, under either label...so don't get influenced into buying the Winter Sampler Pack...you'll regret it later! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 13-December-2003. Score for this rating: 6,2,4,1,7
Pilsener Label:
Very light in colour, somewhat hoppy smell...good for a pils! Nice taste, some hops thrown in as well. Better than most other pils, but obviously not a 'full' beer! Score for this rating: 6,2,6,2,10.

Black in colour, with a lot of bubbles on the side of the glass. Strong smell, very ''aley'' in smell while being a dark beer. Sweet malty flavour with a very smooth aftertaste!

Good overall beer, very findable in the northeast...perfectly golden in colour, great hoppy smell. Bright white head on the pour, but it quickly dissipates. A quick start to the taste and flavours, and an even quicker finish, as there is no aftertaste! The beer starts out great, but fades away way too quickly!

Looks like a mixed black and tan, a semi-transparent dark colour. Great smell...I must not have noticed it the first time around. Much better taste then the first time I tasted it as well. More to the "Stouty" taste, with caramel and burnt notes in addition to a malty taste. All around, one of the better "black-and-tan" mixtures that i"ve had...but obviously nothing tops the real black & tan!
