Description
The brewery was set up at the end of 2004 in a beautiful farmhouse called “L’Olmaia” in Val D’Orcia, near Siena, Tuscany, initially as a small firm producing up to 300 litres per batch.
In 2009 it was relocated a few kilometers to the east in the area of Sant’Albino, near Montepulciano, where the products could be sold directly to the public. Throughout the year we produce 6 types of beer, plus some special seasonal beers, all of which are strictly unpasteurized, unfiltered and re-fermented, both in the keg and in the bottle. The production plant was built, according to our production needs, by the company Tefo of Parma, and it now has a production capacity of 2,500 litres per batch thanks to 4 cylindroconical fermentation tanks with a capacity of 2,500 litres and 2 with a capacity of 1,500 litres.
Inside the Brewery you can find the Tap Room with 6 beers on tap, cold cuts, cheeses and bottled beers.

Bottle at Brew, Beers and Ciders, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is liqourice floral hop alcohol. The flavour is moderate bitter with a fake sugar marshmallow light fruity spice palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

75 cl bottle. Clouldy yellow color, massive and lively rocky white head that does not settle down. Aroma is prominently hoppy, bittering hops has a key role here. Light malty, with sugar, some candy and a fleble fruity note. Taste is balanced, sugary and intensely bitter. Carbonated, medium bodied, creamy/foamy texture, mouthfilling, smooth finish.

Pours a cloudy colour of rust with a great head of foam. I figured that since it was an extremely slow gusher.

The nose is fruity with apple, evidence of mild tartness, flowery and to me, has a mint presence.

Apple and some tartness up front, followed by an assertive Brett character. Again, mint and an abundance of bitterness.

Medium body with champagne like carbonation.

Good points, bad points. The sharpness and uber dryness make it not overly drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of La "9" (La Nove - Batch No. 9) on 03 May 2016 at 19:10 - Score: 6. Original review text: Very bitter with some kind of flowery notes. And mint.

Bottle sample at a tasting at avrashi’s place. Thanks avrashi. Cloudy orange. Aroma of malt, lots of yeast, caramel, spiciness, and a fruity note. Sweetish flavor with malt, graininess, yeast, a husky note, caramel, a fruity hint, and some unpleasant bitterness. Medium-bodied.

On tap @ IBF Pub Edition, Milano.
