Description
In 1999 the brewery was established in the ''Commanderie van St. Jan'' in Nijmegen. This 12th century monastery has since been our production location and also the place where beer has been drunk most for years. In Brouwerscafé De Hemel, the 12 taps are always filled with different brewes from Hemel. Beer production takes place in the cellars of the Commanderie.

Tap @ PINT Winterbier 2015, small sample. Clear copper to brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of caramel, bit roast. Bit bitter in taste, bit roasty, slight sweet. Not a stout at all.

Sampled at PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2015. Ok how is this a stout? Dark amber color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, something weird, weird sweetness that should not be there. Totally not a stout, what the hell is this? Wrong beer poured or just not a stout at all?? Weird..

50cl bottle shared with brewing friends Light mandarin aroma. Decent off white head. Clear deep amber pour. Not too sweet like a lot of the supermarket bocks. Very good but expensive.
