Bottle @ Joes. Hazy yellow colour with a medium sized white head. Smells barley wine, sweet, malts. Tastes malts, sweet, barleywine. Not bad but too heavy on the carbo. Medium body.

750 ml bottle split by Willrunforbeer. Nice appearance in the chalice; dark Amber color with some full head at the pour. Aroma is nice; Belgain yeast, dark fruits, big clove and a mild holiday spice.
Flavor has the Christmas spice lingering though out the entire sip. Real heavy on the clove. The body was medium with a spicy finish. Pretty good but after about 5 oz. The clove really started wear on my palate. Nice in a small amount.

Poured from bottle thanks Willrunforbeer chestnut brown with a nice frothy tan head. Aromas of honey spiced yeast and dried fruit. Taste is sweet caramel dark fruit spice and tobacco with a dry lingering clove finish.

330ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of skullgeorge. Hazy golden orange color with off white head. Yeasty and malty aroma, spicy, cloves, coriander, citrusy fruity, dusty, bready, caramel, something artificial. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium oily body with soft to average carbonation.

Bouteille 75cl, de et partagée avec Erwin. Clocking at 37€ a bottle this is in no way worth such a price.

Thanks! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. Dark amber, little tanned head. Nose is sweet licorice with dark fruit, clove, syrup, generic spices, dull Belgian profile with spices. Taste is fish guts, esters, sugar, bark, spice, cloves, herbs, brown sugar,… Light syrupy, fish guts,… Not as heavy as expected, rather cloying. Mediocre attempt at a spiced Belgian. Didn’t care much for it, it is passable. This one is unsurprisingly going for some insane prices right now here.

MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. taste: very malty, raisins, milk chocolate, lots of banana. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, malty, raisins, soft bitterness, more banana, yeasty touch, sweet.

Appearance: Overflowed when opening, way too carbonated. Not a very good start. Murky brown, after the dust settled. Way too much head.
Aroma: Fruits, slight sweetness. Spices.
Taste: Lots of fruit, some hops and spices. Pretty good, but slightly disappointing. And for what I paid, overpriced.
Bought: Drinks of the World (Basel), 330 ml, CHF 12.00

330mL bottle, pours a murky opaque filthy orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma brings out loads of Belgian yeast, lots of dough, some generally spiciness and subtle fruity esters. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very complex Belgian yeast component, coupled with fresh dough, subtle spiciness and a touch of fruity esters. Very low residual sugar, but just enough to give it the balance. Perfect carbonation level. Excellent stuff.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Off white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Clove and pit fruit aromas. Sweet with pit fruit and clove front to back. Dry lasting clove finish.
