12 oz can. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has roasty malt and cocoa, and kind of a soapy hoppiness. Flavor is smooth roasty malts, cocoa and coffee, lots of molasses, rounded out with some bright citrusy, piney malts. Again all very smooth, which is really nice for this beer. Very tasty.

Sample during the It Would Brighton MI Birthday If Yoopers Could Lake It To This Tasting! event on 09/18/2020. Slightly cloudy orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes gradually to an outer ring. Sticky strings of lace. Piney hops, citrus and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of piney hop, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

12oz (thx, Alex M.!) @ home. 2nd beer (after the Birth of the Cool to celebrate Helen's pass of Class 5 driving test!). Appearance: pours a real black with a blackish head. Aroma: nice bourbon, dark chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, lots of bourbon and cocoa, sweet and roasty. Nice bourbon aftertaste. Overall: a nice one.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, fading, tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, caramel, a touch of toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, roasty, dark malty, notes of molasses, treacle, some cocoa, caramel, dark caramel; roasty finish Minimally viscous texture, smooth, soft, minimally cloying palate, medium, soft carbonation. Not overly impressive.

12oz can at share. Black, thick pour, small beige head. Sweet chocolate and vanilla aroma, boozy notes. Boozy taste, full vanilla flavors and elements of chocolate. Really nice.

Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate sweet vanilla cream bourbon barrel kick. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate vanilla bourbon barrel notes.

Can shared at our Fury for a Feast share. Pours a hazy, glowing gold with a finger of creamy white foam. Lots of peach, plum and nectarine aromas. More of the same on the palate. Lactose is used correctly and not overdone which adds a nice creamy touch. Lots of fruit in this with good modern tropical fruit laden hops that pair well with the pluots. Creamy fruit and dank finish. Lovely stuff.

2020 August can shared at our Fury for a Feast share. Pours a pitch black with a small bit of beige foam. Same old classic TraXXX body, aromas and flavor. Peanut butter is there but a bit roastier than usual it seems. Lots of dark espresso and roasted malt bitterness. As it warmed up more peanut butter came out.

Bottle shared at our Fury for a Feast share. Thanks Adam. Pitch black pour with a small beige head. Classi TraXXX with lots of peanut butter, coffee and roasted malt aromas and flavors. Good relatively thick body. Lingering roast, coffee and peanut butter.
