Black or almost black, medium sized, quite creamy looking white head, good retention and good amounts of lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: nutty and maybe slightly chocolatey malts with a light hint of coffee, a clean floral bittering presence underneath. Taste is quite intense and very clean/defined. Minimal caramel sweetness, nutty and lighter chocolate notes, a touch of coffee, perhaps a hint of licorice, a quite intense (per style) clean bitterness (slightly leafy/tea-like). Light to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, very easy to drink with a pleasant hint of dense creaminess. Excellent example of the style.

Moderately pale yellow, a bit of haziness. Average sized fluffy white head, ok retention and nice lacing. Quite good intensity in the aroma: cerealy malts, fresh herbal notes with a lemonish touch and perhaps a hint of peppery spiciness. Taste has even better intensity: cerealy, slightly crackery/fragrant malts, vivid herbal/grassy bitterness, a citric hint, a now more discernible touch of peppery spiciness. Clean and well defined taste. Quite light in body, average fine bubbled carbonation, very quaffable and pleasantly fragrant. Overall a very classic german pilsner, simple and linear but pretty bold in intensity. Very good stuff.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Dorata, abbastanza limpida, schiuma bianca media. Al naso ben bouquet di fiori bianchi, lievito, spezie. In bocca è abboccata, croccante, con chiusura amara medio-leggera, discreta secchezza. Corpo medio, un po' (troppo) poco carbonata. Decente.
