On tap at Kick. Next to black in the glass, with a dense dark beige head leaving curtains. Lightly spiced, roasted aroma with some caramel, dried fruits and some hints of chocolate. It’s super smooth on the palate,, nicely carbonated and full bodied, with a decent bitterness. Roasted malts, chocolate, some dried fruits and coffee, hints of bread crust and dark dried fruits, and a decent bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish. Sure pleasant this one. Not world class, sure nice though. Sort of messy. 170211

On tap @ Både &. Clear dark brown, close to black body with a nice beige head. Aroma has mild roasted dark malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is quite smooth, dark, soft roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and balanced bitterness. Fine balanced body and good aftertaste. A very nice, rather classic porter, maybe a bit light bodied but this is not a negative issue her, it’s simply a smooth and very easy drinkable porter.

330 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a nice off-white head. Aroma has malt, bread and some Christmas spices, but the ginger dominates totally. Flavor is light and smooth, dark, low roasted malt. A hint of Christmas spices and lots of ginger. Low bitterness. Medium to light bodied and nice ginger aftertaste. This is definitively no Old Ale, the only thing to match the definition is the color. It’s neither a complex beer, quite straight forward ale with spices. Disregard this it’s a well-balanced spiced ginger beer, not too much or too little. As I love ginger it’s a rather pleasant, easy and quite refreshing beer. Mild malt, not very sweet, low and bitterness and not too boring either even if it lacks some depth.

Many thanks to yngwie for sending us a 330ml bottle, batch #2. Patchy, pearl white head, spotty lacing, hazy golden body. Moderate smell of citrus and tropical fruits. Rather fresh, succulent taste of citrus and pine. Subdued fruity bitterness to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Likable (Shared with Finn and djoeye at a rating session in Tromsø, 09.01.2017).

Many thanks to yngwie for sending us a 330ml bottle, batch #1. A buubly ring to the rim of the surface. Hazy grey-golden body. Dotted spots on the glass. Perfumed lemongrass on the nose. Mid-dry lemongrass to the taste buds. Sweet fruity ending. Drinkable, really not my kind of beer, too much perfumed impression (Shared with Finn and djoeye at a rating session in Tromsø, 09.01.2017).

Nice deep nutty color with a fine head that leaves a fine lacing down the sides of the glass. Ok intensity in the aroma. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Fine body and a fine carbonation level. Dried fruits, toffee, spruce and some Christmas spices. Nice tasty ale at only 4,7%.
