Description
JackRabbit Brewing Co. was founded in 2019 by two craft beer enthusiasts with the aim of bringing modern craft beer to the picturesque surroundings of the Essex & Suffolk border.

The micro-brewery was converted from a disused piggery on an old smallholding farm, creating all kinds of logistical problems with a long winding driveway off a country lane!

Since 2019, the brewery has weathered the storm of the global pandemic, continuing to build the brand, and is now expanding, bringing on new team members and moving to a new larger site that is shared with a beautiful vineyard.

440ml can. Slightly hazy golden amber with a big frothy white head - until I poured the rest of the can it when it became a dirty orange colour. Aroma of citrus fruits and malts. Taste of slightly sweet malts, caramel, marmalade, bitter citrus - orange, grapefruit peel, grapefruit juice, resin, mostly bitter throughout. Quite a soft, creamy body for a west coaster. Wondering if that's the twist they mention in the description? Because it tastes like a pretty classic WC DIPA to me, the body/mouthfeel is really the only thing suggesting it could be NE influenced.

Can. One of those cans that didn't open properly and then pisses beer everywhere! Sigh! A mild to medium haze on this slightly deeper than average gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, pretty dry and had a fine minerally crispness. Thin malts, too thin. Bitter feckin Calypso and Citra. Tasted like it all went in the boil. Tangy bitter citric peel with a side helping of something that tastes a little chemical like and definitely tastes unpleasant. Dry tangy bitter finish. Hard work and most of this went down the sink. These guys are almost local to me and I will buy more of their beers, but on the dipa front - MUCH WORK TO BE DONE!
