Poured up on tap at the Oceanside Stone tap room where it exhibits a deep brown to mahogany colored body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up nutty medium roast coffee and a bit of caramel and chocolate malts. The taste follows suit with fairly deep nutty to dark roastiness, a dash of spicy chai and chocolate malts. To midway caramel malts become noticed as well. Very nice robust brown ale.

Draft. Golden beer with a cream head. Mineral aroma. Malt and mineral flavor. Medium bodied. Malt and mineral notes linger.

On tap at Stone Escondido, pours a clear golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma has a wonderfully fresh, piney hop character, with citrus, and doughy malt. Flavour bursts with tropical, resinous hops, bright pine, and doughy malt. Impeccably well-hopped and balanced. Fantastic.

32oz crowler fill from Stone Liberty Station pours with a clear deep gold colored body that supports a modest white head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of grapefruit and pineapple and then moving into pine tree like hoppiness. The taste delivers both bitter hop and juicy hop flavor grapefruit, pineapple and orange marmalade. The hop bitterness is affirmed to midway by a growing pine hop bitterness that peaks just as the big ABV starts warming your innards. It's not working as well as it should as it seems to have a bit of sweet fruity esters that might just be the hops, but, here we are. It's a little like enjoying a really good IIIPA and also chewing on a fig. Solid sipper nonetheless.

32oz crowler pours with a clear deep gold colored body that supports an off white tight head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of pine hops and guava sort of tangelo kind of grassy greenness. The taste delivers a smooth soft body with plump rounded appendages ushering in pine hop bitterness tempered by some lightly sweet tangelo, pink grapefruit and tropical guava like fruitiness. To midway and into the finish the hop bitterness, led by chewy pine hops, begins to dominate to help close out the experience. Lovin' this.

Draft at the Escondido location. Pours black, with a small, foamy, khaki head. The nose is black bread, green banana, blackberry, and dough. Sweet and fruity, with a light, citrusy bitterness. Medium body, crisp, and chewy. Bright and interesting.

Taster at the Escondido location. Pours black, with a huge, rocky, beige head. The nose is mocha, dusty cinnamon, chicory, and pine sap. Dry and musty, with a mellow, burnt bitterness. Heavy, dusty, and thick. Harsh and abrasive, yet somehow delicious.
