Description
Brouwerij 't Koelschip bestaat in principe al sinds 1992 toen brouwmeester Jan Nijboer en zijn vrienden al brouwdemonstraties gaven op locatie. Vanaf 1999 volgt een verhaal van allerlei pogingen een brouwerij te openen, die allen mislukken. In 2005 besluit Jan Nijboer zijn speurtocht naar een geschikte locatie na zovele jaren te staken. Sindsdien brouwt Jan Nijboer op kleine schaal aan de Grace Kellystraat, 1 hl. per brouwsel.

Bottle 300ml. @ Fastelavnssmagning, Ulfborg.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, citrus, cheese notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light lgiht citrus acidic with a average to long duration, citrus cleaning agent. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20100220]

Cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with wheat and lemons. Flavour was sourish with wheat, yeast and lemon notes. Sourish finish.

Bottled. A light golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of yeast, citrus, straw, and a bit of pepper. The flavor has strong notes of lemon as well as notes of straw and wheat, leading to a dry lemony finish.

Bottle, 5.5%. Citric and spicy aroma, OK witbiery. Hazy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour stars off with some yoghurt notes, turns yeasty and lemony. Smells better than it tastes.

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Perfumy coriander aroma. Light body, dry fruity and spicy with an astringent edge. 200210

Clear amber with a tiny off white head. Sourish aroma with lacto and malty notes. Sour flavour with lacot, apples and brett. Finished dry.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet witn notes of straw and malt as well as hints of caramel, leading to a very dry finish. The body is light.

Bottle, 5%. Faint brett aroma, mild and pleasant enough. Almost clear amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour starts off papery, turns a bit sour and finishes with a faint brett note. A little yeast in the finish as well.

30cl Bottle, as Explosie. Clear amber orange colour, dying thin white head. Aroma of caramel, molasses, syrup, alcohol. Flavour is very sweet, fruity, caramel, alcohol. Sweet alcoholic finish. Thick mouthfeel, full bodied. Way too sweet.
