[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Dark brown, brief head. Evident coffee aroma. Sweet with coarse mouthfeel. Roasty with strong notes of menthe and vegetabels. Medium bitterness. Inteerstin gbeer, but feels somewhat plastic or artificial.

[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear amber. Resiny hop aroma. Sweet, vinous and full bodied. Really malty. Like in English barley wines it is dominated by sweet maltiness. Medium bitterness. A likable barley wine!

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Clean, yet enticing aroma of fruit and spices. Medium-bodied with accents of spices and licorice. Neat and clean, perhaps it lacks some personality. 180506

Clear copper color with white head. Taste and smells of dark fruits, sweet malts and caramel. It has a vinous aroma. You can only sense the high alcohol. More taste than Jacobsens other beers. I was quite impressed - better than expected!

On tap at Carlsens kvarter (Odense): Dark browny red with thick white head. Notes of fruits in smell and taste, especially banana(I first thought of hubba bubba) Sweetness from banana and perhaps cocolate. Carbonation is medium. The finish is good! OK abbey ale!

Bottled. An almost cloudy, copper color, topped by a nice beige head. The nose is lightly spiced, with a candi-sugar sweetness and malts. Flavor is sweet, with candi-sugar, fruityness and apples. Sweet, full body with a bitter finish. A lovely beer that is a bit on the sweet side. (060428)

A pitch black beer with a hube brown head. The aroma is sweet with light roasted notes combined with a slight acidity, that reminds me of woodruf (skovmærke). I find the mixture of notes in the flavor weird, I pick up strong notes of coffee on a very roasted dry background, as well as light notes of mint. I am supposed to pick up these elements according to the name - I just find the combination of flavors odd - especially the mint and the coffee together.
