Bottle
Heavily carbonated wit look. Weak citric yeast aroma. Pleasant enough wheat flavor - more german than belgian though. A bit apple juice - almost a Apfelweisse. Medium body - yeasty apple aftertaste.

(Bottle 33 cl) Fully golden, clear and filtered with a fine, creamy head. Very distinct aroma of yeast - and some spices. Rather dry and lightly sulphurous. Technically very wellmade, but I lack a touch of personality to make this an excellent beer. 310705

(Bottle 75 cl) This is Jacobsens attempt at recreating the Carlsberg Bavarian lager - the original Carlsberg Lager, predating it’s pilsner. Very dark amber with a pretty, reddish glow and a small off-white head. The malt dominate this all the way through, in the aroma yes, but more distinctly in the flavour. Lovely roasted malt with notes of lightly sweet caramel. Very discreet bitterness. Quite delicate. 010705

(Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful, clear chestnut coloured beer with a small, lightly creamy head. Somewhat nutty notes in the aroma. Very malted with distinct roasted notes. Medium body. Some underlying malt sweetness and a dry, lightly bitter finish. A nice beer in the bottled version, but a lot better fresh on tap where you really get to sense the refined Sauvin hops from New Zealand. 240605

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy, pale golden beer with a bubbly head that collapses rather fast and vanishes completely. Slightly perfumy nose with typical notes of coriander. Light, fruity and fresh - with notes of citrus. A typical summer quencher and a very typical Belgian Wit if not exactly the most characterful. 220805

750 ml bottle. Beautiful copper colour, good beige head. Moderate caramel malts aroma, some aromatic hops too. Clean tasting dunkel, mellow caramel malts flavour but not too sweet. Decent enough to drink, but not worth the high price.

Draught
Dark clear ruby, small tanned head. Aroma of prunes, sugar and hints of smoke. Light like unfermented sugar nose. Flavor is berry-ike more than stylish brown ale toffeish. Light aftertatse, some hoppy bitterness. Lame. (7/4/4/2/9 2.6)
Re-rated bottled
Dark nut brown color, small off-white head. Sweet nutty malty aroma. Sweetish, nutty malty with some grassy hops. Quite simple, some toasted notes in the finish. (6/3/6/3/12 3.0)

(Bottle 70 cl) Bottle #3261. Hazy, dark coppery colour. Fruity, yeasty nose. Very full-bodied with all the obvious notes of roasted malt and caramel with an almost vinous edge. Gets better sip by sip as it slowly warms.

750 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Very pale colour, slightly hazy, large white head. Moderate but nice aroma of apples, citrus, coves and coriander. Very light bodied, thin mouthfeel. Flavour is dominated by a distinct acidity, probably provided by the sour Bramley apples, but there’s not much apple flavour beyond the acidity. Traditional witbier elements (coriander, orange peel) are very subdued. Minimal hops. Refreshing, but no masterpiece. Does not live up to its price.

Unclear yellow, surprisingly little head for a wheat. Fresh aroma with some lemon. Very unremarkable flavour, some sweetness, some acidity. Would be a good thirst killer if it wasn’t priced like an exclusive after-dinner beer...
