Handpull cask at the Oil Basin Brewhouse. Pours orange copper, clear with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with toffee and a touch of overripe orange peel. Taste is malt-led with more toffee and caramel. Halfway through the taste the sweetness disappears laying bare a forthright hop bitterness which las5 through the long finish. Black tea and citrus pop up in the aftertaste. Thin body, soft carbonation. I could get used to this.

Cask-conditioned at the Bull Baiters, Worcester 16/9/2016. Jet black in colour, with a slight, beige, head. Toasty malts, black currant fruits, plain chocolate and leafy hops, leading to a lingering, bitter, finish. A very good stout.

Cask handpump at The Bull Baiters, St John’s, Worcester Saturday 17th September 2016 Pours black (or as near as) Thick in in the mouth, good body, roastiness is there but there is also hops showing and some dark fruits and bitter cocoa. Despite the hops showing, let me add that this is definitely a stout and not a BIPA. For a 4.6% beer this is very impressive A7 A4 T8 P4 OV15 3.8

Tried at the Newark Beer Festival 2016. Golden colour with white head. Fruity lemon and orange aroma and taste, a touch musty.
