330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small to average, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Cautious, roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, couverture, weak fruity overtones with a touch of blueberry, a minimally ashy touch as well. Taste is mildly bitter, roasty, dark malty and mildly bitter hoppy, chocolately dark malty and minimally caramel malty, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, a touch of burnt caramel, ashes, minimally metallic overtones with a touch of rust, iron rust, even weaker fruity overtones with a touch of blueberry.
Creamy texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously dry palate, medium to fine, dense, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Barely "Imperial" compared to the flood of double digit abv Impy Stouts available today, but well crafted, harmonious, nice bitterness - enjoyable.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks a lot for another ship!]. Jet black colour with average to huge, fluffy, slowly diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty, almost a tad ashy, and chocolately, dark malty as well as slightly fruity and resinous, hoppy and minimally spicy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, fruit flavoured dark chocolate, a touch of chili flavoured dark chocolate, strawberry, blackberry; later additionalya touch of pumpernickel and plum butter, treacle. Taste is roasty and chocolately, dark malty with mild bitterness and some residual sweetness, hints of couverture, dark chocolate, mocha, some roasty spiciness somehow produces a touch of chili flavoured dark chocolate, cautious, resinous and fruity hoppy hints of blackberry in addition; almost ashy finish.
Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously slightly dry palate, fine, dense, prickly carbonation.
Very nice composition, somehow clean and focussed and a bit earthy and dirty at once, eventually even rather complex and multifacetted - good stuff!
