330ml bottle [at 7.0% abv, courtesy of Grumbo - thanks a lot!]. Quasi black colour with rudimentary ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Mildly roasty and smoky, minimally spicy and chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of smoked eel, dark caramel, barbeque sauce, whiffs of peat and leather. Taste is sweet-ish, mildly roasty and smoky, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, some smoked eel, smoked wood, a touch of malt lozenge, barbecue sauce, peaty and leathery overtones, mildly bitter, hoppy counterpart. Oily-watery texture, smooth, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Rich and manifold but still mild, somehow more condensed than intense - pretty decent.

28/6/2024. Bottle from Anglo-Oregon Brewery, Newport. Pours dark chestnut brown with a small creamy/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted, milky, nutty, chocolate, caramel, dark fruits. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Came over more mild like, was quite drinkable but a bit underwhelming as a BIPA.
