Bottle 0,5l. Golden brown coloured. A rapidly disappearing light brown head. Faint aroma of sweet malt. Notes of caramel in the flavour but that’s all. Leading into an dull dry finish.

Bottled. Rubyish coppery colour with mediumsized brown foamy head. Malts in aroma. Flavour is caramellish malts and slight hoppyness. Malty and earthy aftertaste. Drinkable, but the stronger version of this is lots better.

Small dark beige head. Opaque black body goes dark brown at edges. Dried fruit and roasty licorice in the aroma with earthy raisin notes. Dryish roasty licorice taste with earthy chocolate and raisin notes. Metallic, papery traces. Sharp, fizzy mouthfeel. Really very dry and earthy not at all a "soft" beer. Nice. (0.5l can, Perhon Koulu, Helsinki. Second rating.)

Can (BB 04/2007). Copper-red clear color, big off-white head. Aroma of caramelly and slightly toasted malts, some grassy hops and metal. Carbonated mouthfeel. Dry toasted, malty flavor. Finish is grassy hoppy, a bit harsh. Drinkable Finnish 4.6%-beer. Similar to some Russian/Estonian dunkels.

Bottled as Talvi Lapin Kulta (or Lapin Kulta Talvi depending on how you look at it), also 6.5%, so most likely the same beer, that has been kicked alive again in November 2006 after a few years "pause" off the market. Dark copperish amber colour, small white head, that leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is roasted malts, alcohol and rye. Flavour is at first toffeeish, and then turns into big roasted malts. Slight caramellishness. The roast stays for long in the aftertaste. A nice beer from Hartwall (when did they last time put anything good on the markets before this? last winter?). Still one slightly negative thing, it has some weird sweetness in it, that kind of cuts in with the rest of the flavours. Overall a very good one.

Big creamy white head; yellow body with ongoing carbonation. Sweet perfumy aroma with notes of apple. Taste is papery apple with a watery bitter aftertaste, leaving a strong papery off-taste in the mouth. Has good sides, but could do without the paper. (0.4l on tap.)

330ml bottle from Alko in Tampere. Pours a clear pale golden body and a noisy, white head. Citric to the nose. Some bitter citrus flavour with a hoppy touch. Very dry ending. Moderate carbonated. More than average for the style (06.10.2006).
