6/6/2019. Cask at the Leeds Beer Festival. Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of malt, hops, fruit and biscuits. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft to find carbonation. Not great.

Keighley Beer Festival 2014. Deeper copper colour with a not much of a head. Malty bitter, but only a medium bitterness with a modicum of fruity sweetness which does enhance its character.

Half pint, cask ale in perfect condition at The Fox and Newt brewpub. A special brew made for the queen celebration 2012, I was told. Lasting, creamy off-white head. Spotty lacing to the glassware. Clear, dark amber coloured body. Malt-fruity to the nose. Dark fruits and caramel malts promoting a mild jam-like flavour. Smooth bittersweet ending. Another good one from the microbrewery (Leeds, 11.07.2012).

Handpump half pint at the Fox & Newt brewpub in Leeds. Bright copper coloured body. Tiny, snow white head. Plain hoppy aroma. Fresh fruity hops in flavour with semi-sweet malts beneath. Mid-dry, bittersweet aftertaste. Above par for a British bitter (11.07.2012).
