500ml bottle from Tesco - Clear yellow body, thin white head. Creamy mouthfeel, with a floral tropical taste. Similar in the nose, clean finish. Nice

Cask at Cloisters. Pours amber with a good white head. Good hop profile on the nose, lemon, orange, tropical fruits. The malt comes through more on the taste though, toffee and caramel biscuit. Too much of both things going on, and it gets confusing. Wouldn’t want to drink a lot of it.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours golden yellow with good white head. Aromas of lemon and bready malt. Taste has some light bitterness and something nutty. Light bodied, edging towards too thin. OK.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours amber brown with a good white head. Very traditional toffee and light biscuit aromas. More toffee sweetness on the taste, a bit too much for me in the end. No carbonation, bit sticky in the texture. An OK bitter.

On tap @ Cloisters. Pours amber with a nice fluffy head. The nose is quite fresh and grassy with a bit of citrus. The taste is more confusing - there’s a toffee backbone with citrus/grassy/nettley hops running through the middle of it. It’s interesting but I’m not sure it goes together. The palate is medium bodied with a substantial texture and a very zingy fresh finish - on paper, that’s good but it’s very disjointed, like a game of two halves. Overall, interesting but not as special as the title would have you believe.

Rerating from bottle. Lovely red fruit and marzipan aromas mean the score needsto be increased. Previous rating 13/09/13 On tap @ Cloisters. We arrived around 9:30 to the ’’meet the brewer’’ event and the brewer had left at 6 - not sure how many people he would’ve met. This is an amber ale with a nice creamy head. The predominant aroma and taste is of toffee. There is a little bit of biscuit going on but mostly toffee. The palate is medium bodied and there’s a thick texture though the finish is a little too sweet and cloying. Overall, another solid bitter.

Slightly Hazy golden beer. Dry hoppy aroma. Tangy-sweet fruit hit at first with a hint of hop and a slightly watery finish.

Cask(@The Hope, Wandsworth): Hazy, golden, no head to speak of, delicate tart and woody hoppy nose, some grains underneath; dryish light tart-bitter flavour, light bodied; short dry grainy-bitter finish. No aroma, pretty disappointing…
