Description

Crisp golden coloured body with a light copper highlight and a very thin, half a centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of deep bready yeast, metal, coriander seed, alcohol and some light hops - a few sugars as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol warmth and dry hoppy flavours with a subtle apricot and peach sweetness, but a strong earthy flavour at the finish. Aftertaste shows more metal and alcohol than anything else with a large degree of bitterness (not from hops) compared to sweet or complex flavours. Overall, a decent beer, but underwhelming considering the source and my expectations. I’m still happy I brought it back home, but I wish I would have drank this at the source and saved more room in my suitcase for some better options. I sampled this 33 cL stubby bottle purchased from Bacchus Cornelius in Bruges [Brugge], Belgium on 14-August-2014 for €2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 27-March-2014.

Poured a clear dark amber with a long-lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is Belgian yeast and citrus. The flavour is medium to light bitter with a fruity, malt, resin hop bitter, alcoholic liqourice palate with a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Ok, but nothing to set is apart from the crowd.

Odense drinking Belgian Beer in February. Dark cupper with floaties. Big off-white head. Aroma of bubblegum and winegum, tropical fruit and dark sugar. Sweet and alcoholic flavour with fruit and bubblegum. Too heavy in alcohol, otherwise clean and decent enough
