Description

Small rim over muddy yellow-ochre beer. Amandine, frangipane, marzipan... Sweet - hops please? Marzipan, sweet, with a greenish edge. I suppose that’s the hops - or is it the snoet? Well-carbonated, bit fiery MF. Medium bodied. Oh B*ll*cks! If you dare to name your beer "hoppewhatever", make sure the hops explode! And CHOOSE your hops, instead of adding whatever is available.

20/VII/13 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - bottled: III/13 (2013-656)
Clear light orange beer, nice creamy white head, very stable, little adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus, fruity, some pineapple, grassy and herbal, banana peel. MF: ok carbon, full body, creamy thick texture. Taste: lots of citrus first, then fruity notes, almost sweet, bitter grassy hops and a hint of banana. Aftertaste: citrus, bitter hops, fruity, more banana, but mainly agrum fruits, alcohol is noticeable. Was I very thirsty when I drank this beer? Has it changed a lot over the course of one month? Weird, if I see the other low ratings, because I really liked this one.

Cloudy orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive, lots of chunks floating around. Aroma: sweet banana, yeasty, honey, flowery, very sugary, hint of citrus. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, sugary, ripe fruits, flowery, honey, citrus, bitter hops, some melon. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, soapy, hint of honey, citrus, bit sugary, warming alcohol. Very ok beer, but I don't exactly see this one as a "tripel hop".

33cl bottle, Bottled on 08/2012.
