33cl bottle. A clear dark golden beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of belgian yeats, old fruits, toasted malt. Taste of mild sweet malt, old fruits, vegetables, sweet yeasty fruits, nothing special.

0.33 l bottle from ’Gall & Gall’ (Zaltbommel), best before August 2018. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, moderately yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of banana, cloves, pear and honey. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, rather yeasty-spicy and moderately fruity taste of banana, lots of clove, honey, some peach and hints of citrus, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, very yeasty-spicy and slightly peppery finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice!

Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a bit fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and hints of dark fruits. Moderately sweet, malty, slightly roasty and minimally fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and traces of dark fruits, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, only slightly earthy finish. Medium body, a bit creamy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very decent Stout, nice surprise actually!

Borefts VIII. Day 2. Bottle. Thanks to Rene. Hazy gold beer with a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is airy and semi dry. Modest carbonation. Dry pale malts, grainy. Little dried fruits. Falling short in every department. Turgid.
