Cask pint at the brew hotel on 26th Feb 2017. Amber/golden pour, off white head of lasting foam. Decent blend with the light malts just about leading the way aroma and taste wise. Nothing unusual or different, just a traditional English Bitter, which in itself is unusual and different these days I suppose.

500ml Bottle conditioned bought at the brewpub. BBD unknown, poured carefully into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged pint vase glass at home on 30 Oct 2015. Lovely looking beer, clear light amber with a full off-white head. This is the best of the beers I have tasted from this brewery (not too difficult to be honest, as I have been sadly unimpressed with their offerings) so far. Less home brew, more character and depth to the beer. Mild malty lead to both the aroma and taste with a mini bitter finish. OK all round.

500ml bottle obtained from the Hotel the brewpub is connected too. Poured slowly into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 9th Sep 2015. A quiet lunchtime pint on my own with a cold Beef sandwich (lettuce and English mustard) along side a small packet of Cheese and Onion flavoured crisps. No sediment seemed to leave the bottle, but I got a hazy deep amber bodied beer, the head a solid off-white blanket with carbonation bubbles rising to replenish through the brew. Malty lead in the nose and taste, fairly sweet and fruity in nature with a mild bittering finish to each sip. The best beer I have had so far from the village of my youth (moved away in 1962 or 63.

500ml bottle conditioned: poured at home into a UK pint sleeve on 3rd Sep 2015. No sediment left the bottle, so I got a clear amber body, the head a thin off-white blanket. Yeasty and hoppy nose, the taste similar but with some malt sweetness in the background. Fairly bitter in nature, even with that malty inject. OK, if a little bit ’home brew like’ overall.

29th Aug 2015: gravity poured half pint at the Bacchus Hotel (Sutton-on-Sea) Bank Holiday Beer Festival. Sadly the beer was in terrible condition and only just drinkable. Slight haze and no head on this fruity blond, can’t believe one of their own beers was in such a poor state at one of their main events of the year beer wise. Scored fairly, just.
