The Ottakringer Brewery is the last remaining large Viennese brewery, and also one of the last large, independent breweries in Austria. This independence is extremely important to us as a family-run company. Our approximately 150 employees do everything in their power to keep it that way. The most important keys to our success are high-quality products, a wide variety of beers and our hunger for life, which has become our trademark.

07.09.2021 - 0.5l bottle from billa in vienna. pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. aroma of sweet malts, caramel, wood. flavour of caramel malts, wood, grassy hops. sweetish.

2012 trank ich einmal ein "Ottakringer Zwickl", dies allerdings nicht offiziell. Jetzt bekommt man es unter coolen neuen Namen:
Ein neues Bier aus dem Hause Ottakringe. Ich weiß allerdings nicht, ob es sich um das altbekannte Goldfassl Zwickl handelt. Vom Alkoholgehalt würde es sich ausgehen, aber optisch war das Goldfassl Zwickl hatte ich hübscher in Erinnerung. Denn aussehen tut es wie gelbliche, alte Milch, geschmacklich hat es die klassischen Zwicklnoten nach Hefe und Weißbrot -und diese bekommen andere Zwicklbiere besser hin. Man kann es gut trinken, aber wirklich toll finde ich es nicht.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Gentle sweet almost elderflower aroma. Flat see through. Easy drinking, quite fresh, some metal mixed with hop.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Dar golden pour, one finger cap of creamy head. Malty aroma, musty, light vegetal notes. Taste is caramel malts, brown bread. More vegetal flavors but a bit subdued than in the aroma.

330ml bottle. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is herbal hops, grain and malt. Taste is light sweet, malt, grass, a bit metallic. Medium bitter finish.
