Bottle in Vienna. The usual medium brown dunkel color. Decent head. Not a very strong aroma, would like a little more actually. Can’t really sense any darkish or roasted malts. Clear, refreshing taste, medium body, rather light for the type, I think. Malt is not roasted all that much; a bit, but I would prefer a little more. It has a good malt taste, though, and a decent balance. Just slightly sweet, which I like, but there is very little of the usual caramel flavor. I don’t mind that either, but without strong roasted flavor it tastes a bit too little like a dunkel. A decent hop aftertaste, though basically staying within the limits of the style. All in all I like it, but it is not altogether interesting or original. A good, easy to drink light-bodied dunkel.

Draught in Wien. I suppose this is only released for one week of the year, on tap, and I was waiting in expectation. It was very cloudy, very malty, slightly fruity. Relatively rich malt. In the end though, it was quite disappointing. It really didn’t have much character to it at all. It had a good amount of hops, working with the alcohol to balance the malt. But the malt itself, though okay, was lacking in character. The alcohol was a bit too evident. It was decent, but not what I was really hoping for in this one-week-a-year only bock from tap.

02/03 0.5 l can courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured pale yellow body with medium to smaller head. Typical corny sourish sweet egg aroma. Sweetish malty flavor as well, cornflakes, eggs, typical. Medium bodied. Finish is acceptable, not too crappy which helps on the impression on the beer being not too unpleasant.

0.5l can bought somewhere in Graz, shared with heavyMedium thick white head, gold, slightly paler than usual, body. Honey dominates the nose, maybe some light vegetables. Taste... welll... sweet then slightly salty, something vaguely fruity and chalky diluted in there, some random bitterness near the end . Typical n/a, not offensive, not special and relatively useless.

bottle, pours deep gold, light amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is carmel malt and sweet bread. Flavor is nice with bready malts and a little bit of smoke ending with a bitter biscuit malt and moderate hop bite.

Bottle. Poured with a good head. A rather malty, slightly sweet aroma. A slightly dark blonde color, more like a Maerzen than a helles. Pretty good aroma, rich and malty. Rich, medium to heavy body, full malt taste. A little bit sweet, but with very good, strong hops and nice balance. Long-lasting aftertaste. Decent Austrian bock.

Pale golden coloured, small white head that went away fast, hint of cardboard in the nose. Few streams of carbonation. Honeyish malty, weak hoppy and grainy with notes of cardboard. One-dimensional and boring beer.
