Taster at Beasts & Brews. Pours a clear, golden color, with a big, foamy, white head. The aroma is lavender, orange juice, juniper, and butterscotch. Sweet and malty, with a mild, dank bitterness. Sticky, juicy, and lively. Fair.

12.7oz bottle on 31st December 2022. Brewed with Buckwheat, Triticale, Oats, Rye, Vienna and Wheat apparently, it certainly tasted different and almost interesting. It isn't a 'Grey Beer' as claimed on the label, it's a slightly hazy yellow color, no head. Didn't take to the beer though, just a bit to 'Farmyardy' for me.

Pretty hazy and funky blonde and light peach coloured body with a nice, thick and frothy three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of very funky, soured, bretty and lactobilly funky yeast notes with a lot of tartness here (especially for the style) and a subdued malt and hop presence, but the yeast takes over in a good way, with only a dash of grass, hay and barnyardie funk - most of it is the soured yeast. Light-bodied; Pretty crisp, grassy and herbal flavours do show up at first with a noticeable tart and funkiness, all from the yeast, of course, but the grass and perfumey qualities go far, with a light bread and yeast finish with the bretty funk very noticeable in a good way, that adds to the complexity. Aftertaste shows a lot of grassy and perfumy qualities with a good layer of the hops here on top of the bretty and lactobilly funk from the yeast, but this is pretty clean and easy-drinking in terms of a saison, which makes sense at less than 5,0 per cent alcohol. Overall, great to try and well-recommended for the style with an added complexity from the yeasts here - this was nice to have and perhaps would have been worth it to carry on a plane, but luckily I didn't have to do that! I sampled this 37,5 cL, wax-sealed bottle, purchased from Glen-Ro Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 18-December-2021 for US$8,99 (as part of a buy one, get one, free promo!) sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-December-2022, just a year later (and a day later) after purchase.
