Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Bottle. Pours with a hazy orange-amber body and a small, off-white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, table sugar. Light tropical fruits and a sort of fruit/herbalness I associate with columbus. Flavors of tropical fruits, good bitterness, some dry caramel-ness, with lingering orange and mango. Tastes quite a bit like a homebrewed single IPA I did 9 months ago. Similar malt profile and hops aren’t too far off (summit and amarillo in that one). Dry finish. Lively bubbles. Pretty decent beer.

Apple and green bean smell.. Hazy golden, thick head. Sour green apple flavor, finishes with more malt and a little corn. Far too sour for a kolsch or blonde. Drinkable.

22oz bottle pours a translucent, burnt orange amber with a frothy white head. Nose is zesty hops, malty, doughy, spicy herbs. Flavor is well balanced, malty, crackers, biscuit, lemon rind, orange zest, lightly spicy. Medium bodied and dry. Slightly bitter on the end too. A lesson in balance.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrus and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of elderflowers, malt, caramel, and hops, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of madsberg. Pours amber with a dense off-white head. Very fresh aroma hops in the nose - citrus and peach. Medium body, very dry fruit, very perfumy hops leaving a dry and astringent bitterness. 090710
