My first all-Citra beer - man, this is seriously citrusy stuff - the Swan Song is a solid beer, and the semi-dry, crisp, biscuity maltiness of the original is intact, giving a nice base for the earthy, lemony, orange-flavored citrus explosion of the hops - just enough malt to give it heft - the hops are showcased very well here - me likey.

Tap at Vine Street - a lovely, understated belgian brew - a bit of crisp, crackery malt and light belgian esters and phenols - the lightest touch of sweetness - a tiny bit of herbal bitterness through the middle - a bit of tartness - light, refreshing, tasty.

Tap at Vine Street - somewhat british in its bread yeast profile and fairly american in its hop profile - not a hell of a lot going on, especially for this brewer - some lemon character, a lot of yeast - moderate to high acidity for the style - creamy mouthfeel - kind of a liquid sourdough bread thing going on - drinkable but forgettable.

Draft. Deep brown body. Frothy, thick tan head. The aroma is strong with roasted grain, coffee and chocolate. Notes of caramal and a hint of licorice. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Rock solid coffee porter. No one flavor, including the coffee, is overwhelming. Great mouthfeel and easy drinking.

Draft. Hazy, golden body. Short, white head, mostly diminishing. Ginger pervades the aroma and taste, but there are notes of toasted grain, lemon grass, flowers and a hint of honey. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. At first, I thought the ginger was too dominant and that I’d be tired of it halfway through the pint. Not so. There was enough carbonation to keep the ginger from building up on the tongue. The beer stayed clean throughout and my opinion of it didn’t change the second time I had it. Very nice.

Sample at the brewpub. I will add the entirety of my notes as soon as possible. This Stout pours nearly black with a medium thick tan head that dissipates slowly to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roasty malt and coffee in the nose. Medium, dry body with flavors of caramel malt, roasted coffee and a touch of chocolate. The finish is mildly bitter coffee and hops with a roasty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium thin foamy light beige head that evaporates steadily. Sticky top ring of lacing, with some spots beneath. Hoppy aroma that has citrus and floral notes. Medium body with a moderately bitter floral hops flavor, along with some malt, citrus and pine. The finish is hoppy with a citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a mostly clear amber color with medium off-white head that recedes slowly. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Biscuity malt and floral hops in the nose. Medium body with a solid sweet malt base, offset but floral hops and some pine. The finish is doughy malt with a short hops aftertaste. Difficult to shoehorn this into the IPA category for me, but above average overall.

Nitro sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes to a lasting film. Large sticky patches of lacing. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, bready malt and some pine. The finish is smooth and malty with a light hops bite. Not bad overall but I would like to try off the tower sometime.
