Tap at Vine Street - came here hoping to catch the Dirty Dark - they were out, so I just grabbed a pint of this - I’ve had it many times, but never rated it - great go-to beer for this place; much like their Java Porter, it is always solid - a sturdy, but crisp malt base gives just enough heft to support the citric bitterness of the hops - orange, lemon ring, pine - medium bodied but still quite refreshing - yup, they do hoppy beer right here.

On tap at Southern Sun. Murky orange-brown. Soapy off-white head. Moderate ABV, but big and bold flavor. Fruity and sweet, very full bodied for 5.6%. Fruity Belgian yeast dominates, making it rather big and rugged. Saaz and Amarillo shine, but just end up adding to the overwhelming nature of the beer. Dry finish, but a lot of thick orange-caramel tones up front. OK.

On tap at Southern Sun. Hazy, cloudy orange tan. Fluffy, small head. Balanced malt/hop aroma, shows a little alcohol depth. Truly captures the American Strong Ale category, not really an APA. Deep, fruity malt depth. Solid bitter hop balance. Somewhat syrupy and thick, but still has some freshness. Resiny. OK, but a little rough around the edges.

On tap at Southern Sun. Opaque blackish with a small beige head. Big coffee taste, somewhere between medium and full bodied. Creamy and mellow, but still has a robust flavor. Pretty solid coffee porter, well balanced and enjoyable.

Tap at Vine Street - at first, I though it was a bit sweet for my tastes, but after a while, as the sweetness played against the complex citrus notes of the hops, I really started to enjoy is - aggressively bitter without being overly acidic or abrasive - extremely dank and resinous - tasty!

Tap at Vine Street - looks great - black with a well-retained, compact dark tan head - medium sweet and creamy, but balanced by a fair amount of bitter black malt, char and woody hops - a bit of licorice on the tail end - dry, moderately bitter finish - tasty.

Nitro at Vine Street - I never really tasted a cream stout that actually tasted like sweet cream before...until now - way too sweet and milky, reminding me a bit of condensed milk - a bit of roasted malt, but nothing cuts he sweetness enough - a rare weak stout from these guys.

Tap at Vine Street - an interesting and tasty beer - creamy mouthful, medium- full body - fairly sweet, but with and interesting counterbalancing tanginess from the wheat - flavors of cocoa, anise, prune - a bit of cherry - a touch of smoke/char - finish of dr cocoa and a bit of bread character - lingering prune - interesting - I like it a lot.

Tap at Vine Street - probably the most dry oatmeal stout ever - it is actually quite bitter and somewhat ashy - creamy mouthfeel from the oats fails to make up for this - bitter black malt, a fair amount of earthiness from the grain - long term flavors of ash and wet, charred wood - what the hell happened here?

Tap at Vine Street - nearly black pour - impressive tan head - moderately smoky nose, with substantial roast/coffee character, moderate sweetness, a touch of acidity - creamy body - fairly full for the style - medium-sweet, with some vanilla and chocolate - a touch of coffee bean - smoke is moderate to mild - a light bit of astringency - lingering cream sweetness in the finish - reminds me of a less impressive Fade to Black Vol. 2 - fairly solid.
