Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Mahogany colour, small beige head. Caramelly nose. Sweet with medium to full body. Dominated by malt syrup and molasses. Fruity and caramelly with some roasty coffeeish notes and warming alcohol. Fairly low bitterness. Warming but a bit sticky.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy deep amber to hazzlenut brown with a small lacing tan head. Caramel and malty to molasses aroma. Maple syrup perhaps? Sweet mouthfeel. Sweet flavoured of syrup and caramel, light hoppy bitterness showing through. Breadish malt base flavour into a smooth sweet finish. Light fruity too.

Bottle at GBBF08. Rough hop aroma. Caramelly flavour, distinct hops. A little sweet, but quite alcoholic. Burns my throat a bit.

While this beer has some good merits, I couldn’t finish the bottle (and none of my hard drinking friends were offering to try after a sip. Pours with a large, light brown head, that has great retention, and good lacing. It coveres a dark brown body. Aroma of chocolate, carame, alcohol, maple syrup and molassas. Taste is strong alcohol, molasses, maple syrup, that finishes sickly, cloyingly sweet and sticky. Creamy mouthfeel and light bubbles. NOT well crafted.

Bottle at home, side by side with imperial nut brown ... Both Very Clear reddish copper ... slight smokeyd woody malt nose ... fruity malts little toffee ... just a hint of maple syrup butnot enough to overpower ... just a little nuttyness... Well i though this was ok ... not as nice as the imperial... and the wife didnt like it ... but still not bad and better than its percentile would suggest

Bottle at home, side by side with maple nut brown ... Both Very Clear reddish copper...sweet toffee and little meaty ... smoother deeper and slicker ...Given the huge difference in % its ncie to see that i concur in a side by side all be it that i the gap is smaller and that i quite like both of them ... little caramel ... again a little mayble but again it doesnt overpower ... ittle woodynesss... all in all i think this one wins over the maple nut due to a slightly sweeter edge and a better mouthfeeel and depth rather than on any other characterisitics.... Though wife realy didnt like the maple nut but did like the imperial... It would appear that im the weirdo liking both .
