Dark brown pour. Sweet, maple aroma with notes of old leather. The flavor was full of vinegar on top of sweet syrup. The alcohol was quite noticable. Mouthfeel was thick and syrupy. Past its prime? Let’s hope.

22oz bottle. I must say I’m excited about this one: an imperial nut brown, interesting concept, let’s see if they can pull it off. Pours extremely dark brown with a 1" brown head. Aromas of bubblegum, sweet malts, slight maple. Thick and syrupy in the mouth, with a definite natural maple flavor. Very interesting, and I enjoy it- but it’s a bit too sweet for me to want to revisit regularly... the more I drink, the less I want. Hmm... ease up on the sweetness a bit and this’d gain a few extra points.

Thanks to Goldtwins for this one. Typical American Lager all the way. Large white head over a clear, medium yellow body. Lightly hopped and light malt come through in the aroma. The flavor mirrors the aroma but remains washed out and thin. Refreshing and decent but remains a real lawnmower beer.

Bottle. Sweet apple-peach and hops aroma. Cloudy amber color with small head. Slghtly sweet apple malt flavor with a moderate hoppy finish. Nicely balanced - just a tad on the weak side.

Bottle. A deep molasses/fudge aroma. Medium dark brown color with small head. Sweet dark maple syrup and light malt flavor. On the light side palatewise. I would like more of a malty beer flavor.

Bottle. Creamy chocolate/molasses malt aroma with moderate astrigency. Cloudy orange brown color with small head. Sweet molasses and port/sherry flavor - mild astringency to the finish. Much more sherry flavor and less astringent tartness than the German doppelbocks I’ve tried.

Bottle. Primarily lemon grass aroma - light hint of wheat malt. Cloudy amber with small head. Light wheat malt flavor initially that’s quickly overwhelmed by the lemon grass flavor -watery. Probably could get the same flavor by adding lemon grass to any light beer. No bad tastes to this beer - just not a lot there.

This presents a very deep dark garnet colored body under a thick creamy head. Chocolate, maple, and alcohol on the nose. Fruity and smooth, this settles down and improves as it warms. I think this might be an interesting beer to age a bit. A softer alcohol touch would be an improvement.
