Description
WHAT'S AN UPSLOPE?
Meteorologically speaking, it’s a front range-covering, water-table-filling, snow-dumping weather pattern that anyone with bindings and a roof rack would die for. Beerologically speaking, it’s carbonated gold. In 2008, Matt Cutter, Henry Wood and Dany Page, kissed their homes in Cleveland, Atlanta and Argentina goodbye to bring their beer-brewing love affair to Boulder, Colorado. With that, Upslope Brewing Company was born. And after ten years of supplying Colorado with trailhead tallboys, and pow-day libations made from the freshest snowmelt, the finest hops and the purest passion for living life outdoors, one thing has become undeniable. These guys didn’t just float another microbrew into the sea of Colorado microbrews. They created a lineup of quality craft beer that tastes as good poured from a tap as they do pulled out of a fishing vest. In other words, for those who call the Continental Divide home, the perfect storm.

Can. Dark gold pour with a medium sized sudsy white head that slowly recedes. The aroma is light with malty grains, corn and breads. The taste, like the aroma, features malty grains corn and breads, Mild nutty bitterness provided from noble hops--Saaz and Hallertau I guess. The palate is light and refreshing. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Rating to style here. This is a top tier Oktoberfest brew, its the kind of beer I want to drink when I am at a celebration and pounding down brews in quantity.

12 oz can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Almost no lacing. Malty aroma. Straightforward German-style Oktoberfest beer with sweet malty lager flavor and nothing else. Clean and crisp, with a slightly grainy mouthfeel. No bitterness. Medium-light body. A great drinking beer you could have over and over again. Prost!

On draught at The Office Bar and Grill.

Pours a clear gold with a fine layer of foam.

Smells very piney, hints of tropical fruit, little melon.

Taste matches the smell with the pine dominating and that's what I prefer. Light melon and tropical fruit. Hoppy with a good level of bitterness.

Good mouthfeel.

I'll be drinking more of this often.

Can from Brix Bottle Shop in Kalispell, MT. Pours a clear bronze color with a small beige head and decent retention. Almost no lacing. Sweet toffee aroma. The taste follows the nose: Sweet toffee flavor and nothing else. Tastes like a sweeter-than-average American Oktoberfest beer. Not enough dark malt, in my opinion. Medium-light body. Good carbonation. Zero bitterness. Very one-dimensional, but I like it.

Pint at Sagebrush BBQ in Grand Lake. Pours a clear, golden color, with a small, beige head. The nose is juniper, grapefruit peel, tangerine, caraway, and toast. Sweet and malty, with a big, abrasive bitterness. Crisp, sticky, and hard. Solid.

can. Crystal clear deep gold color wit a medium white head. The aroma is distinct with grapefruit, lemons and papaya. The flavor, like the aroma, starts with grapefruit, followed by other mixed tropical fruits. The bitterness is moderate. The palate is full and a bit oily. Finishes long with lingering bitter roots. Overall: First rate IPA
