Keg at Warsaw Beer Festival, 07/04/17. Black with a handsome dirty tan cap. Nose is peated malts, charr, dark chocolate, burnt toffee, bitter roast, mellow bourbon. Tastecomprises light mint chocolate notes, dark fruit rinds, black peppery spice, charr, smoked malts, chocolate match makers, mellow barrel. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced boost. Solid.

Taste comprises sherry barrel, light smoke, burnt toffee, fruit cake. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced boost. Decent.

BB 13.01.2019. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, smoky, bacon, spices, peppery, light peat, wood, light resin, leathery. nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, leathery, peat, spices, peppery, wood, resin, some caramel, nutty, some marzipan. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of peat, leather and some nutty notes. Still good overall but the different flavours are all over the place, balance is not that good, a bit too leathery.

0,33l bottle at Powys shared by me. BB 31.12.2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells of bourbon, earthy, bitter chocolate, strong wood, nutty, marzipan. very very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of bourbon, wood, marzipan, molasses, nutty, spices, light dried fruits, some soy sauce. finishes lightly sweet with notes of wood, bourbon and some soy sauce. Very nice one, very smooth to drink, lovely.

Draught Small white head with lace over clear coppery orange-golden beer. Winey, vinous! Bretts' galore but in the best way, no trace of floormop. Dried fruit. Vinous, even Sauternes-like sweet, but with a metallic-hoppy completion. LIght grapey-sourish touch, sourness is definitely more fruity than lactic. In the finish, the Bretts are again obvious. Very slick, not-quite-sticky; well-bodied, warming. Precious vinous fist-in-glove.
