Bottle shared pre Zwanze 2014 - thanks to Paul! Pours hazy amber-ruby with a tight, off-white head. Nice malty nose, notes of ripening fruits, light spices, honey. Medium sweet flavor with pleasant, rounded toffee character, ripe berry accents, bread, hints of cinnamon. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty well balanced on the finish, more bready malts, toffee, ripe fruits, berries. Lovely.

Cask at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear dark brown, thin tan head. Aromas of nut, chocolate, light coffee. Taste is more of the same, light stone fruit coming in too. A bit thin, which is surprising.

Bottle from Cornelius, Edinburgh. It pours clear deep mahogany with a long-lasting beige head. The nose is rich, woody, earth, dried fruits, mild jam and bakewell tart. The taste is smooth, rich wood, toasty, dark fruits, dried berry, almost vinous, leather, some bitter bite, toast, toffee and some jam with a lingering woody finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Truly unique and a sexy looking bastard to boot. Good depth and balance. Can’t help but love it.
