Bottle from Alesela, also 5.4%. Pours hazy gold, thick white head, couple of floaters, but could be user-error. Aromas of pear drops, cut grass, fresh oranges. Taste has a yeastiness, but good bitterness and boiled-sweet sweetness. Barley twists. Sweeter on the finish than I might like, but a good beer nevertheless.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 25/1/2014. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, malty bitter with some caramel but decent, balancing hops, leading to a lasting, bitter finish. Good.

Bottle at home. It pours darkest brown with a medium beige head. The nose is toast, light roast, chocolate and dark fruit. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, cocoa, toast, some stewed berry, mild acidity and liquorice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice fruitiness going on in the background. Well rounded and very drinkable. Nice work.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a medium beige head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of tablet, nuts and butterscotch. Flavour of marzipan and tangy tinned pears. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s flavoursome, but it’s not my favourite Luckie Ales beer.

330ml bottle from cornelius, Edinburgh, shared with jeevan. Pours jet black, tiny tan head, light bubbly lacing. Aromas of liquorice, leather, molasses, burnt sugar. Rich, sweet taste, followed by a roasted bitterness, with more chocolate. Great sipper.

Bottle at home. Slow gusher! It pours cloudy deep brown with a thick beige head. The nose is wood, earth, toast, cocoa, meatiness, candy, must and some spice. The taste is toasty, earth, nice bitterness, meaty, caramel, old wood, chocolate, liquorice, leather, coffee, tobacco, warming alcohol, cola and dark fruit with a dry, somewhat spicy finish. Medium+ body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Interesting, good depth and balance. Another well executed beer from Luckie Ales. I’m really enjoying what they do.

Bottle at home. Slow gusher. It pours black with a gigantic tan head. The nose is coffee, earth, dark chocolate, nuts and salted liquorice. The taste is rich-roast, coffee grinds, dark chocolate, nuts, toast, salted caramel, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Its all about dark chocolate covered nuts. Interesting, flavoursome and good depth. Delicious.
