[ As Luckie Ales Locura ].Unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, fruity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, pale malt, fruity malt, sweet malt, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160320] 6-3-7-3-13

Level 42 Bottleshare and no Mark King in sight. Thanks to Wingman. Almost clear deep brown beer, no real head. Smooth malts with a fair bit of tangy dark chocolate. Mild dark fruits. Smooth finish. Pretty standard stuff from Luckie this time around.

Bottle 500ml. @ Craig’s House - Edinburgh. [ As Luckie Ales / Cornelius Wines Damn Dirty Ape ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, sweet malt, cookie, bread, alcohol, honey - dried fruit - figs - dates. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, cookie, alcohol, honey - dried fruit - figs - dates. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, roasted, toffee, light dung, taste is sweet chocolate, chewy, light cherry coming through, slightly tart finish.

Bottle thanks to Dave at level 42. It pours black with a medium tan head. The aroma is mellow, soft, sweet, rich, chocoalte, chocolate gateaux, touch of cherry and dried fruits. The taste is smooth, mellow, bitter - sweet, blackforest gateaux, dried cherry, alcohol and chewy malt with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate foamy carbonation. Drinks well. Tasty.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to David. Pours clear deep reddish brown with a small, foamy tan head. Mellow ashy roast in the nose, ripe berries, burnt toffee. Medium sweet flavour with mellow roast, burnt toast, a little dry cocoa, leathery berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced in the finish with lightly tangy dark fruits, chocolate, dry roast, earth. Good one.

Bottle shared on Level 42 12/12/2016. Many thanks to Wingman Dave for this one. A mahogany brown coloured pour with a a lasting loose light tan head. Aroma is black malts, sugar, liquorice, hint of ashy roast,, veg coffee pepper. Flavour is composed of black malts, liquorice, woody roast, campfire, low berry fruits. Palate is rounded, semi sweet. Moderate carbonation, little woody. Decent. Tangy finish.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Black body with a beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of cherry, Coco Pops and charred wood. Flavour of cherry, dark chocolate and a hint of marzipan. Thin to medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. Flavoursome and interesting but a little thin.
