Bottle. Dark bronze clear beer, Moderate off-white head quickly turning into a thin film on surface. The aroma promises everything but a stout. Toasted and caramelized malts, sugar syrup, spicy hop. Light body. Thin to oily velvety texture. The flavour is bready, caramelly, toasty. Minimally vinous. Low bitterness. Well it’s very far from a stout. It’s certanly a mediocre dunkel.

0.5L bottle. Clear golden liquid. modest white frothy head. Low retention. Sweet malty aroma with notes af corn, grains, candy. Minimal presence of alcohol on nose. Medium satisfying body. Oily to creamy texture. Clean simplistic malty taste reminding on the aroma. Light bitterness. Drinkable enough. Fairly unsophisticated, not Belgian at angle of yeast still an OK one.

Bottle. Pours clear deep bronze colour with tall spongy beige head. Hoppy aroma. Spicy. Caramel malts along. Light body. Faint caramelly taste. Clean. Close to watery mouth feel. Also spicy hops in there. Low bitterness. Forgettable.

Bottle. Clear golden pour, huge dense white head. Nice but simplistic spicy hop aroma. Light body. Thin. Funny ways the Saaz hop affects the flavour leaving its spicy note without delivering any proper bitterness. Bland grainy tongue. Pity

Bottle. Clear golden liquid, moderate rocky head. Nice lacing. Typical lageresque aroma. Grains, hay, spicy hop. Pear disturbs that refined luxury. Light body. Thin texture. Bittersweet taste basing honey malts & spicy continental hops. Bread in between. Light bitterness. The ending fairly hoppy. So is the aftertaste. Pretty drinkable. Pretty a pilsner.

Bottle. Clear golden, huge white dense fluffy head. Average retention. Good lager lacing. Grainy nose. Additional fruit esters, minimal DMS. Light body. Soft to flat carbonation. Empty malty taste of cereals. Bready. Rather clean. Very restricted hop bitterness. Only in the aftertaste you surely detect it. That’s probably how a real Zhigulyovskoye should be. That is for sure what a good beer should not be.

500ml bottle, rebranded by Vkusville. Pours clear gold with a long-lasting white head. Quite nice lacing sticks to the glass. Aroma is soap, grain, malt. Taste is watery, a touch sour, malty. Vyatich’s export version is better.

Draft. Amber colour, clear. Moderate white creamy head. Honey malts, fruit, resiny hop on nose. The aroma is not that intense one expects from an IPA. Light body. Bittersweet flavour with caramel, honey. Medium bitterness of pith & grass. Long hoppy aftertaste. Well it is not a high class still it’s rather clean and bitter. Above my expectations.
