Danke an kevnic2008 für diese Flasche! Ins Glas ergießt sich ein hell orangegoldenes Bier geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht fruchtig, getreidig, muffig. Geschmack leicht getreidig, malzig, etwas bitter, minimal säuerlich.

Couple of 250ml green bottles at ’Weisers’ on Brandon Beach, Bridgetown, Barbados: 5th March 2014. Much to my surprise ’Weisers’ is listed as a beer destination on ratebeers data base: it sells this and the Banks regular lager, nothing else beer wise! I’ve added my review. The Deputy by the way is a typical hot country lager/pilsner: golden and clear with the usual fading white head. This brew has a slight citrus lean with a maltier backbone than a lot of it’s kind. It was OK, and of course the location helped to make it decent.

Bottle from B&M, Chippenham. Brown-black with a swiftly diminishing tan head. Fruity berries up front with chocolate, developing through weak rum to finish with leather and tobacco. Very dry by the end, maybe too much so. Considering how stupidly cheap they were selling this it’s pretty decent; just let down by a little hint of metal and minerals.

Although I plan on visiting Barbados possibly next winter it’s still smart to grab the country tick when you can since you never know what life will bring. Pours jet black with nose of hot chocolate. Tastes of rich chocolate, coffee, molasses, vanilla, licorice, and heavy cream. really creamy palate but still drinkable. pretty good.

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Knowle, Bristol. Near black with a big, but short-lived, beige head. Sweet, caramel and milk chocolate, with a hint of fruit in the syrupy finish. Ok.

Bottle from B&M Canterbury and drunk at home. My first Barbados rate as well. Makes it all worthwhile. Black beer lasting tan head. Some sugary sweetness on the aroma along with some chocolate, coffee and molasses. Touch of lactic on aroma too. It’s a sweet milk stout. Just not for me. Aroma is ok, but the lactic makes me want to vomit. Yep too much lactose in this for me. Rest is a dryish grainy stout. Sorry a drain pour otherwise I will be sick. I just don’t do milk stouts.
