Description
The storied history of one of this island’s most beloved and iconic brands began on September 6, 1961, as Banks (Barbados) Breweries Limited opened its doors in Wildey, St. Michael and commenced production of Banks Beer, Barbados’ premium lager, and later, other indigenous brands such as PLUS, Tiger Malt, Canon Stoute, Coconut Cooler, Fruesta, and TWIST Shandy, just to name a few. The Brewery is also the local bottler and distributor of Guinness, and has been recognised by the world renowned brand for its maintenance of the highest level of quality and international standards.

Herb-süßer Antrunk mit angenehmen Getreidenoten. Süffig, wenig spannend, immerhin aber erfrischend. Zum Ende hin etwas getreidigerm geringe helle Malzigkeit. Unspektakuläres Bier, im Vergleich zu anderen Bieren aus der Gegend aber gut trinkbar und nicht wässrig. 6/8/9/8/8/8

355ml bottle, as Banks Caribbean Lager, 4.7% abv, kindly shared by Finn. Clear, yellow-gold body, loose white head, minimal lacing. Modest aroma of corn and dusty hops. Sweet citric sweet taste plus hints of paper and malts. Standard minus. About drinkable (Skibotn session, 17.09.2011).

Bottle courtesy of yespr, thank you sir! Bright golden color, small white head, moderate lacing. Aroma of white pepper and wet cardboard. Taste is burnt cardboard and charcoal. Should not be ingested by humans. 1.2 Second try was from a can in Antigua. Still unexciting but no off flavors.

Bottle 355ml. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TFODRBSG11. [ As my country rating # 123 on ratebeer ]. Clear light medium yellow colour with a small average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, sour malt notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, thin. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20110820]

Bottle. A clear one, pale golden in color and with a white head. Weak, malty and fruity nose with some faint cardboardy hints. Not much flavor either, obviously brewed to be drank cold and to quench the thirst. Rather thin on the palate, dry and too carbonated. Some bitterness towards the end. Overall, drinkable, but boring. 110820

Bottle 330ml @ TFODRBSG11, Ulfborg
Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain and hay. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Pours clear golden with a small creamy egg white head. Dust, bread and hay. Medium to thin body. Lots of paper.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Medium head with medium duration. Color is pale golden. Aroma and taste are malt and hops.

12 ounce bottle at the 5/7/11 DC Ratebeer gathering. Pours a dark red tinted brown color with a thin tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, lactose, nutty notes and some roastiness. The taste is sweet malts, roasty notes, nuts and some faint hops. Smooth, medium bodied.
