April 2008 bottle. Dark brown beer, good bit short lived pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Mild dark malts but very tangy - bordering on sour. Just a slight woody note. Finishes semi dry with tangy aftertaste. The barrelling here seems to impart sourness rather than smoothness. It’s okay but expensive for what it is.

Keg at Brewery Tap, 21st December 2012, pours jet black, aroma is hop and some cocoa, taste is smooth, lots of malt, some coffee and chocolate, less of hoppy black IPA than I expected, drinks below its ABV.

On tap at Tap East. Black beer dark broen edges lasting beige head. Very heady mix. The sherbert hop is intoxicating. Cold yes. But also unlike any beer i have had today. Not many beers grab me by so much attention. Arresting

Keg at the brewery on several occasions, drink as Fosters Slayer, I guess they thought better of a commercial launch with that name, I am not a lager drinker, this is proper beer though, still low on my favoured styles

Keg at Windsor castle hotel in Windsor, 10th October 2012. Pours amber, served too cold for my taste, the beer is nice and easy drinking, kind of caramel and undertones of strawberry on the flavour, not bad for the pathetic ABV

Keg at the brewery, 3rd November 2012. Light straw colour, sour aroma, flavour is tart gooseberry hits the back of your tongue with its sourness, could be a cider. Could not drink a pint of this, although it was nice to try.
