Aimed at younger consumer groups, this "Spesialøl" is just slightly darker and sweeter than an average bland lager / pilsener. Nothing to write home about.

Pale yellow colored and somewhat effervescent. Barely perceptible skunky aroma. Crisp flavor but not much character. Dry, slightly acrid finish. I am guessing the Bock is much better than this.

This beer blew my expectations away. A beer I buy often. Wonderfully complex nose, fruity and rich hop notes with a very generous, pleasing body. It is crisp and yet not just another lager.

Probably the best Norwegian beer (of any style) you can get. The benchmark of a Norwegian bock.

ABV in Norway is 4,5%. I'm sure the (slightly stronger) export version is even better, if you get it fresh. This beer is basically a pilsener (Saaz hops), but brewed with a certain amount of Munich malts to give it some of the rounded flavour of a Munich dunkel. Not a bad marriage, I'd say.

I did not appreciate much the flavour and aftertaste of this one. Found nothing \"creamy\" about it. Lacks the hoppy freshness of other Norwegian pilsners.

Why do they call it \"draught beer\" when it actually comes out of a bottle?? Anyway, the flavour is quite acceptable.

Nut brown. Toffee aroma. Big, malty body, sweet, slightly vinuous. I like their Bock even better.

Rerate: 330 ml bottle 2011, Cardinal Pub & Bar, ABV 6.5%. Chestnut to mahogany coloured beer, moderate cream-coloured head. Very malty and pleasant aroma with plenty of caramel, mild roasty and spicy notes. The flavour has also plenty of caramel, sweet but not too much, moderate roasty, spicy and hoppy finish.

Brown-red. Big soft maltiness, lingering toffee flavour. A well balanced bock beer of high class.
