Tradiční pivovar v Rakovníku
-one of the few independent traditional breweries in the Czech republic
-brews all its beers according to the traditional double-mashed technology which means that the beer is fermented in open vats and lagered in horizontal lagering tanks for 40-60 days
-only uses the highest quality raw materials of Czech origin, namely Czech malts, Saaz hops and water from its own deep wells, to make the beer
-has the right to mark its products with the protected geographical indication Czech beer

dark brown,small yellow head. aroma is dark caramel, almost spicy bitter. flavor is bitter, burnt malts, notes of rye.

Bottled. A brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of metal, caramel, bread, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a deep amber glare with a small off white head. Caramelish and toasted. Metallic. Breadish and dry malty. Dry malty into a mild metallic finish.

Bottle from local Tesco. dark golden color with medium white head. Fruity,malty aroma with bitter hops. Taste, malt, caramel,honey. Light hoppy bitterness in finish. Not bad, but not so hoppy as it could be through dry-hopping.

500ml bottle with a fine, pale golden neck and October fest drawing. Trade with Gaute. Spotty lacing from a fast declining white head. Clear golden body. Pale malty nose, dry. Grass, mid-sweet malts and cardboard flavours. Dry and sweet ending. Flat and watered. Drinkable, but dull (shared with friends, Tromsø 12.102013).

500ml green bottle, trade with Gaute. Frothy white head to a clear dark golden body. Dotted spots to the glassware. Aroma of grass and malts. Taste of pale malts mingled with oily hops. Semi-sweet. Moderate, clean bitter endnotes. Just alright (shared at a Saturday night party, Tromsø 12.10.2013).

500ml bottle, trade with Gaute. Shared with Ingrid and Esben. Frothy white head, reduced to a remaining layer. Clear golden body. Earthy malts and hay to the nose. Dried fruity flavours surrounded by grainy malts. Herbal dry ending with mild bittersweet notes. Medium minus bodied. Drinkable with the cheese. (Tromsø, 12.10.2013).

Lahev: Deep ruby-amber coloured, small and persistent off-white head, moderate dryish toasty-caramelly nose; light bitter-sweet flavour, very light bodied; relatively thin and dry bitter-malty finish. Nothing wrong with it, just a bit watery…

Bottle sample at a tasting at Zvika’s place. Thanks Ariel. Nice clear deep red. Aroma of malt, cardboard, a bit of butter. Sweetish flavor, malty, a bit caramelly, a bit toasty, with a bit of buttery hints. Light to medium-bodied.

clear golden colour, large, slightly yellowish white head; aroma of grassy and floral hops with some maltyness; taste: well balanced hoppy bitterness and malty sweetness with some roasted nutty (sunflower seeds) notes; good beer for a hot summer evening
