Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Dror. Clear brown with a bit of beige foam. Aroma of malt, caramel and a bit of licorice. Sweet caramelly flavor with toasted malt and a slightly bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied.

At a tasting, thanks Dror, snall beige head, clear brown colour with dark red hues, aroma of malt, black cherry hay and some smokey hints, flavour of roasted malt, candy, dark chocolate and dried fruits. Quite sweet but with a complementing bitterness. Good

0.5 l bottle. Golden color with medium white head. Aroma, malty. Taste, very strong malty, with short bitter finish. Too much malty taste for me, but OK.

Bottle. Color amber, with nice light brown head. Aroma, caramel. Taste malt, caramel, hints of coffee in finish. Drinkable.

Bottled 500ml. -at Pivovarsky Klub, Praha as Bakalar 555. Nice clear amber coloured, small off-white head, touch of sugar in the nose. Roasted malt, caramel and some hops with faint fruity and alcoholic notes. Touch of metal in the finish. One-dimensional and overrated beer.

Bottle, as Bakalar 555. Thanks to KnutAlbert for sharing. Patchy surface atop of a deep, mahogany coloured body. Sweet malty aroma. Mild roasted malt character with a touch of honey and dark fruits. Rounded aftertaste where a alcohol tingle pop up. Nothing special, just alright. (café Gavlen, Copenhagen 09.05.2010).

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 2 May 2010) Golden colour with lasting, creamy, off-white head. Malty nose with toffee, grass, hints of citrus and a touch of honey. Malty taste with notes of bread, grass, toffee, hints of citrus and a generous grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain malty sweetness. Nice Bohemian pilsner. I remember I tried some excellent Bakalar beers back in the nineties, before the brewery was closed. Apparently it’s up and running again, so this was a welcome sight .. and a nice beer. Keep ’em coming.

My green bottle said bakalar 555 double bock original czech beer. Gold and black label with bakkalr written in gold apon a red banner. First let me say this is not as good as Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock or troegs troegenator, but its not that bad. Big green bottle. A little browner than a pale lager but just as cleatr. Smell is a little veggie on the pop but it get better in the glass, clear and sweet. Taste is not as expected, its much more mellow and friendly. easy goin. Decent CO2 and decent lacing. Rather kind and friendly thru-out. Finish is a tad uncomfy. Medicinal bitter but not over the top in any way. I put off tasting this because I though it was gonna be rude, pleasntly surprized. Overall good beer experience. Much better than victory or bells concencrator.
