Welcome to one of the most beautiful places in Stein.
For 14 years we, Rik & Lonneke Brouns, have been able to run a beautiful company here, De Fontein Brewery. A craft beer brewery and catering company in which taste experience and Limburg hospitality are paramount. We are in nature, we work with nature. Fruit from our own standard, herbs and fruits from our own vegetable garden, honey from our own bees, we use all of it. Will you come enjoy the beauty of the seasons with us? We produce more than 40 different types of speciality beers. We brew a variety of seasonal beers, where possible using ingredients we produce ourselves while taking account of classic beer flavours.

Glass at the brewery, Orange beer, small head. Aroma is malt, citrus, tropical fruit. Taste is the same, sweet and some bitterness, nice one.

Glass at the brewery, Amber brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, nuts, small trace of iron but not unpleasant. Taste is the same, sweet and a bit bitter.

Glass at the brewery, orange yellow beer, medium head. Aroma is malt, citrus, spices. Taste is the same, some hint of smoke. bitter and light sweetness nice one.

Glass at the brewery, Amber, dark brown beer, medium head. Aroma is malt, caramel, and a hint of citrus. Taste is the same, very sweet, and a small hint of bitterness in the end. Is it Session?, no its 5.8% Is it an IPA? not, in my opinion, its not. Is it a good beer? yes its very drinkable, maybe a bit too sweet.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, full sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, yeasty, some bitterness, a hint of grapepeel sour-bitter. Decent body, medium to firm carbonation.

33cl Bottle from Secret Sint 2015, thanks SVD! Hazy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of raisins, figs, prunes, alcohol, candy, brown sugar, some yeast, smells a bit like Rochefort 8 or 10. Flavour is sweet, malty, figs, raisins, dark fruits, brown sugar, hint of roast, quite bitter, candy, alcoholic, bittersweet finish. Medium to full bodied. Nice Quad.

Glass at the brewery, Dark brown almost black beer, medium head. Aroma is malt, fruit, some coffee and chocolate. Taste is the same, bitter and some sweet. nice one.
