In August 2015, the Mad Fox Taproom opened in the Glover Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. We're proud to provide a unique dining experience that pairs our handcrafted, award-winning beer with an appealing menu created in a scratch kitchen using locally-sourced and sustainable products whenever possible. All of our craft beers are brewed on-site using the finest ingredients sourced from across the country and internationally as well. Taste the difference with our appealing brewpub menu featuring hand-tossed artisan pizzas, creative burgers, signature frickles, weekly specials and more. Our 63-foot bar serves as the centerpiece of the brewpub where we showcase up to ten standard, house-brewed draught beers on tap as well as a rotating selection of seasonal brews in German, English, Belgian and American styles. Taste our cask conditioned proper Real Ales served through water-jacketed Angram beer engines which ensure that every pint is served at properly conditioned cellar temperatures.

Held in growler for 4.5 years, purchased just prior to closing. Poured a clear copper color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was caramel, some aged malt, a touch booze, tobacco leaf. Alcohol really helped hold this one up.

Thanks to Radagast for caring for this growler for many years. Not much Mad Fox still kicking around. 2l swing top growler has carb. Wow. Clear garnet amber with some sudsy white head. Nose has what you'd think. Malt and caramel and oak. Chewy toast. Well made. Flavor some heat, the malty stuff and then plenty of oak and some witchhazel. Full bodied. Shows some oxidation but not as much as you'd think. 7 4 7 4 13

Oaky tobacco and sweet booze. Dark copper pour with decent head. Bittersweet and boozy end. Caramel. Some leather. Growler saved like 4 years from Radagast. Flash from the past.

RIP Mad Fox... 22oz bottle pours a burnt gold with a ring of white head. Nose has butterscotch, malt, booze, honey. Flavor is caramel and butterscotch. Full bodied but pretty smooth all things considered.

Cask at GBBF'19, day 3, 08/08/19. Black with a decent tan head that clears edgewards. Nose is dark malts, dried fruit rinds, chocolate, light spice. Taste comprises modest roast, cocoa sprinkle, faint smoke, toffee, molasses, hint of fruit cake. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough porter.
