Cask gravity at GBBF 2018, dry hopped with Falconers Flight. The aroma is sweet, oily, sticky, treacle, burnt toffee, rocky road, fruit cake, perfumed, prune, date and vimto. The taste is dry, bitter, charred, liquorice, raw, solvent, varnish, warming booze, spicy, plum, date and dried fruits with a warming finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. A bit harsh and charred perhaps. Ok.

9th August 2018
GBBF Day 3. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Great condition for a cask barleywine. Fairly thin dark malts, a little spicy licorice. Fruity whiskey boost underneath. Some spice on the dry crisp finish. Light on its toes and very drinkable.

Draft the day after Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a very dark color, with a small off-white head. Aroma was dark fruits. Definitely some tart, sour barrel character on the nose. Light roast. Toasted malts. Woody oak. A little fire in this one- plenty of alcohol on the finish.

Draft the day after Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a nearly pitch black color, kind of very dark cola, with a very wispy dark tan head. Aroma was woody vanilla notes, bourbon. Some heat in the aroma, but it doesn't translate into the flavor thankfully. Pretty smooth, the barrel doesn't dominate this one too much, thankfully. Sweet caramel, light roasted burnt malt notes. Nice.

Cask at Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a clear yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was crisp malts, with some light malts, floral hops, very easy to drink. Slightly on the sweet side of things, but just crisp enough. Decent Mexican lager.

Cask at Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a slightly hazy, dark amber/orange color with a small off-white head. More carbonation that I expected. Like the base beer, the aroma was heavy on the orange, sweet notes, touch of bitter citrus. Fresh, juicy hops. Nice floral note, nice juicy character. Really pleasant.

Draft at Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Like the base beer, it poured a nearly pitch black color; dark cola. Aroma was heavily roasted malts, sweet caramel malt notes, woody barrel. Despite the aroma having heavy booze, the flavor was super smooth and drinkable. Dried fruits, light earthy and floral hop notes in this one too. Smooth finish.

Draft at Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a nearly pitch black color, like very dark cola. Aroma was a blast of heavily toasted malts, sweet caramel malt notes. Some light booze. Dried fruits, light earthy and floral hop notes in this one too. Alcohol is there, but it's pretty well masked.
